De Vree Christmas Party

Our De Vree Christmas Party was smaller this year than normal. Unfortunately, a lot of our family could not make it due to other commitments or sickness. Even though we were missing a lot of people we still had a good time. There was more than enough food and a table full of sweets. This year all the grandchildren put together a picture book for our grandparents. I am sure my grandmother will be showing it to a lot of people and the book will be looked at often.
This might be a great tradition to start.

First Christmas Party for 2008

Tonight was our first Christmas party for 2008. We celebrated Christmas with the Hoekstras at Forest Grove Hall. Everyone was able to attend. There was a wide assortment of food and we did a gift exchange. It seems weird to have a Christmas party with no snow. We are blessed with a great family! Below is a picture of all my cousins with Grandpa and Grandma in the center.

Amber, me, Grandma, Sarah, my Mom.

Grandpa sneaked in on Chris and Sarah's picture.

Now that is a Kodak moment!

Christopher, Aunt Sandra, Uncle Don, & Collin.

After dinner we did a group game. We had one die and if you rolled a three you had to put on oven mitts and try to unwrap the gift. The first one to get to the gift won. Christopher was the lucky winner. Here are a few pictures of my family trying to unwrap the gift.

Happy Thanksgiving

We celebrated this Thanksgiving with the DeVree side. We had a huge feast at 1:00 at Dad and Mom's. Turkey, mash potatoes, corn, stuffing, rolls, green bean casserole, cauliflower salad, & jello rolls are are a few of the items we stuffed our faces with. I think everyone wanted to expand their pants before leaving the table.

After dinner we went down stairs & tried out David & Amber's new Wii Fit. It breaks my heart to say, Scot KICKED my butt at every event. I didn't think it would be that great of a work out, but I ended up taking off my sweater because I was building up a sweat. We all had a great time with lots of laughs. We ended our time together by reviewing the adds for black Friday & making a plan on when we are leaving. Scot & I are meeting Dad & Mom for breakfast at 7:30. After breakfast, Mom & I are going our own way & Dad & Scot are hitting Lowes & Gemens.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Hopefully it was filled with family and great food!

Scot's Barn

This summer Scot started to build his barn. A barn has been
on Scot's wish list for a few years. This winter he plans on finishing his office in the barn and building a work bench. This week the heat was installed and Scot now has somewhere to hang out this winter. Here our a few pictures of the inside of the barn. I am hoping to use the barn for a few parties!!

Man's Best Friend

It is definitely true that a dog is a man's best friend. Here are pictures of Scot and Trigger chilling in the living room. The only way Trigger is allowed on the carpet is if he is on his dog blanket. Trigger loves to be by us. As you can see he is a very spoiled dog!!

Third Day

Last night Scot and I went with Steve and Andrea DeWeerdt to the Third Day concert at Sunshine Community Church in Grand Rapids. The opening band was Need to Breathe. Need to bring sings, "Steets of Gold" and "Washed by the Water" Third Day played for a good hour. Third Day has several good songs! Some of their songs are "Revelation" , "God of Wonders", and "Call my Name". We had an awesome time!
