Deer Hunting Season 2010

Scot had another successful deer hunting season. This year he hunted in Marion with his Uncle Paul and cousin Chase. Opening morning around 10:45 Scot shot a 6 point. He called me to tell me about his kill and said he was going to go out again that afternoon. He was able to shoot one more deer but it had to have four points or better on one side. He said the chances of him seeing that kind of deer this afternoon was slim. Well around 4:15 I received another call from Scot stating he was shaking like a leaf because he just shot the biggest deer he has seen up north. He thought it was a 10 point but he had to go track it yet. After he found it he realized it was an 8 point. Part of the antlers on the right side were broken off.
The girls also went "hunting" this year. Here is Skylar's kill.

Here is Alysha's big kill.

Beautiful Morning

This morning there was a small four point buck behind our house. It is so cool to watch the deer behind our home. The past couple of mornings I have been watching a nice eight point. I hope the four point and eight point survive the next few weeks of hunting season!

Win at Losing 2011

Can you believe there is only two months before January 1, 2011?? I am looking forward to the holiday season. But with the holiday season usually brings bad eating habits and some weight gain.

Americans typically gain 3 - 5 pounds or more during the winter holiday season. From the feasts of Thanksgiving, Chanukah, and Christmas right through to the last drop of champagne at New Years healthy, sensible eating habits are forgotten. Exercise routines are often disrupted with friends and family visits and travel. This excess weight puts an extra strain on the heart and joints. Every extra pound of weight forces the heart to work that much harder. If the heart has to pump harder the blood pressure will go up.

Are you one of these typical Americans? Was one of your New Year's Resolution for 2010 to lose weight? Did you meet that goal?

Do you want to lose weight in 2011? Do you want to change your life to a healthy lifestyle?
