15 Month Photo Session

Today I took the girls 15 month photos. The dress they are in is the dress my mom wore when she was one.

First Day of Spring

Happy First Day of Spring to you all! Today I was reminded that even though the sun was not shining spring is on the way. Below is a pictures of several turkeys that were feeding in the field next to our home. With the warm weather we have had my tulips are up and will start blooming soon.

Brunch at the Gruppen's

This morning Scot and I were going to attempt taking the girls to lunch after church. However, we got a much better offer to have lunch with the Gruppens. It worked out perfect because the girls were able to spend some time with their cousins and run around. The best part for me was that I did not have to cook anything for lunch!

Thanks Eric and Heidi for working hard in the kitchen!! The boys (Tristan, Braden, & Jayce Eric) had fun taking turns feeding Skylar. They must have the magic touch because Skylar ate like a rockstar! Alysha had fun sitting by the bar and she ate like a champ as well!

Beautiful March Day

We were blessed today with gorgeous sunshine and warm weather! Thank you G0d for such a beautiful spring day!!! I can not tell you how GREAT it felt to get outside and go for a walk. Even Trigger was super excited to go!After our walk we stopped by the barn to visit Scot. Skylar was all over the place checking everything out and picking up scrap wood. All Alysha wanted to do was sit down and take her shoes off. Of course she had to taste test the sawdust while she was down there. She was a dusty mess by the time we left the barn. After visiting Scot in the barn we all went outside for awhile to enjoy the spring day. It was fun watching the girls walk around and check everything out. The girls were even able to try out their tricycles. Right now the girls are still to small for the tricycles but hopefully in two more months they will be pedaling all over the place.

This and That

Are we really almost half way through March?? I have been told time flies the older you get. I really think time flies twice as fast once you have children. So what is new with the Van Dams?

Scot has been itching to get out on the lake and go fishing. He has been busy the past few weeks getting his boat ready for fishing season 2011. Even though the economy has been rough, Scot has been blessed with work. The past few weeks Scot has been busy bidding on jobs and hopefully will be busy through the summer.
Skylar has 10 teeth. She has 8 in the front and two molars. Skylar loves to be chased around the house, especially when you are trying to get clothes on her. She loves to sit in her pink chair and read books. Skylar knows how to throw a temper tantrum already at 14 months. If she is upset she starts stomping her feet and screaming!! No one warned me that temper tantrums start as early as 14 months. Skylar is a really fussy eater. I know this is pay back for me being so picky. She loves goldfish and bananas and that is about it! Thankfully, the other day she ate a grilled cheese!!!

Alysha has 7 teeth. She has five in the front and two molars. She has been a momma's girl the past few weeks. Thankfully, Alysha is a GREAT eater!! She takes after her dad! Lately, Alysha starts blinking like crazy and closes her eyes when I want to take her picture. I have a feeling I may have taken too many pictures. She loves to take off her socks as soon as I put them on. The past few mornings she has been waking up with one arm out of her PJs. I am starting to think she rather be only in her diaper than have clothes on. I have been going a bit stir crazy the past few weeks. I am so ready for spring. I took the girls grocery shopping for the first time by myself. I pushed the double stroller and pulled my cart. It was a bit crazy and I don't think I will be doing that to often. I have decided that one of my goals for 2011 is to conquer making cheesecakes. Not real good for my diet but a fun challenge for myself. I will keep you posted on the progress. I have been enjoying doing play dates as well. This past week I was able to have my nephew, Eli, over for a few hours.

Something to Think About

This era will pass so quickly, and
the present stresses will seem
insignificant and remote. What will
matter to you at the end of life
will be the loving relationships
you built with your
family and your readiness
to meet the Lord.
