We Survived!!

I am happy to report that we survived our first 7 day vacation with Skylar and Alysha. We headed up to Manistee on Saturday afternoon and arrived at the cottage on Hamlin Lake around 4:00. Thankfully we had many hands to help us unpack. I think I packed everything but the kitchen sink! Left to Right: Reese Yonker holding her little sister,Cambry, Alysha, Skylar,Scarlet Wedeven, Paige Kleinheksel, & Landon DeWeerdt. Landon was the ladies man this past week!!!

The cottage worked out perfect for our group of 10 adults and 7 children. During the week we went through hundreds of diapers and bottle feedings but were able to have some adult time as well. We could not have asked for better weather because there was no AC in the cottage so the cool nights were a blessing to all of us. There was only one night of rain which allowed me to loose at Texas Holdem to Steve.
One morning the boys watched the kids so us girls could go for a walk at the state park that was by the cottage. It was a nice walk to Lake Michigan. It felt great to get out and excersize. One afternoon the boys were responsible for the kids again and us girls went to Ludington to do some shopping and to get lunch.

We also brought up with us two seadoos and spent a lot of time on them touring around Hamlin Lake. The cottage had a paddle boat and kayaks that we used as well during the week.Scot also took his fishing boat and the boys went fishing a few mornings and Scot and I went once at night. When Scot and I went I caught a bass and Scot caught a pike. I told Scot it looked like rain but he said it wasn't suppose to rain. Of course when he started the boat up to go back it started to rain. We were a little damp when we got back but had a good time.

Thankfully the girls slept good at night which allowed Scot and I to relax and enjoy time around the bonfire. I love having bonfire's with our group of friends because there is always interesting discussions. Thanks to all our friends for a great vacation and helping with the girls!!!
