Christmas came early for Scot

Scot's hunting trip was to Illinois this year. He was so excited to go because they were getting some nice looking deer on their trail cameras. Scot left on Wednesday, November 30 and came home this afternoon. His dad was successful on Thursday morning and shot a nice 10 point. When I talked to Scot on Thursday night he sounded disappointed because he wasn't seeing a lot. On Saturday afternoon, Scot was able to shoot a deer of a life time. Scot decided to try a new spot that hasn't been hunted yet this season. There wasn't a tree stand where he went so he sat on the ground by a tree. Before he knew it, a nice deer walked right in his shooting line. Scot did not realize how big the deer was until he walked up to it. He then realized he just killed his biggest buck yet!! He ended up getting a very nice 16 point buck that scores in at 180.

Here is Scot and his Dad with their bucks.
CONGRATULATIONS HONEY!! I am so excited that you were able to enjoy this experience!

Christmas Tea

Friends are a great gift from God.

I was blessed to enjoy a Christmas tea at Central Wesleyan Church this evening. My friend, Jodi Matson, hosted a table this year and surprised me with an invitation to join her. Her table was beautiful and the desserts she made where delightful! She spent a lot of time preparing for this event. I know that everyone who was at her table enjoyed the evening the appreciated the time she put into the evening. THANK YOU JODI for such a great gift this Christmas. I really enjoyed the evening!!!

Merry Christmas Hoekstra Family

Tis the Season for Holiday Parties. Tonight we celebrated Christmas with the Hoekstra family. It is amazing how much more fun the girls are this year compared to last year! They have so much fun playing with their cousins and opening gifts. It is so much fun to watch them grow into little girls.

More Turkey???

Who wouldn't want to have two Thanksgiving dinners? Sign me up! This evening we were able to have Thanksgiving dinner with Scot's family. It was great to catch up with everyone. Alyhsa LOVED Grandma's mashed potatoes. I think she had 4 helpings. That's my girl!! I think Skylar had more fun talking than eating this time around. It was perfect to have two turkey dinners because I need all the fuel I can get for my black Friday shopping. This year it starts at 9:30 and hopefully goes till 9:00 the next morning. Let the fun begin!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!! I am so blessed and have MANY things to be thankful for! The number one thing I am thankful for is my family. God has blessed me with a wonderful husband and two beautiful girls. They are the love of my life! This afternoon we celebrated Thanksgiving with my family. It was great to pig out on turkey and mashed potatoes. Here is the kids table. The girls did fantastic eating at their own table with their cousins, Eli and Gwen. So much food, such little space on our plates.

I am thankful I was able to say goodbye before the Lord took him. I am also thankful for the many, happy memories I have of my Grandfather. He will be missed!!!
