Who would have thought we would have such warm and beautiful weather this early in May? With the warm weather I decided to put together the girls' mud pie making sink. An no, I did not introduce mud to the girls. I am waiting till summer months when they can be sprayed off with a hose before coming in the house. Even without mud, the girls had a riot playing with their outside kitchen. This purchase was a huge hit for mommy!!!
Now these three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

My Mother's Day
I had a FANTASTIC Mother's Day. Scot helped the girls make me Mother's day cards and I was surprised with a wonderful purple flower basket. Scot made me my favorite breakfast, an omlet. The best part is he cleaned up the kitchen. Then for lunch we met up with Scot's family at Salt & Pepper. Lunch was great and the girls did wonderful. Trust me, I am not complaining one bit about not having to make lunch!! Later in the evening I was able to enjoy one of my favorites, McDonald fries and a Diet Coke with my mom.

Yard Work
AWESOME......78 Degrees on March 17...in Michigan!!! What a fantastic day! Today all four of us spent the majority of the day enjoying this wonderful weather. We spent all morning cleaning out our flower beds and getting them ready for bark. We took a break for lunch and ate on the deck for the first time this year.
And of course, the girls had to break in their slide. Check out Skylar's clothes that she picked out, floral pants and a stripped shirt. I have to give her credit for at least matching the right colors.
When we were all done with our yard work, I took Trigger for a walk and Scot took the girls for a Ranger Ride to Uncle Paul's. When I got back from my walk, this is how I found Alysha:
Skylar, however, was still going strong. She took the opportunity to help Scot on his boat. This weather makes me so ready for summer!!

Bye Bye Cribs...Hello Toddler Beds
Bye Bye Cribs.....Hello toddler beds! We made the decision to turn the girls' cribs into toddler beds because
Alysha kept crawling out of her crib. It was sad for me to see the cribs changed over to toddler beds. My girls are growing up so fast!! The girls were very excited to have "Big Girl Beds"!! Scot had to go into the girls room three times to tell Alysha to stay in her bed. Other than that, the first night was a success.

Heaven's Gate
Today my Grandpa (Jay) Hoekstra was called home at the age of 73. This is a blessing for our family as my grandfather suffered from Parkinson disease over the past 10 years. It doesn't seem fair that I had to lose both of my Grandfathers within three months of each other, but God must have needed them more than I did. Their work here on earth is done & God called them home! I find great comfort in knowing that I will see them again!

Time to Read
For some reason the girls love to sit in small, tight places. Today they took all their blocks out of the box and both of them squeezed their buns in it. I am thankful that they LOVE to read books.
