Today I had an appointment to get the girls 3 month pics. What an experience!!! I learned a lot of lessons today and will be prepared for their 6 month pics. Alysha did great. It was a little bit harder to get smiles out of Skylar.
Now these three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

Welcome Gwendalyn Terri Neale
Amber and David had their baby yesterday, March 22 at 4:00 PM. Gwendalyn was much smaller than her brother Eli, weighing in at 6 pounds 12 ounces and 19 inches long. Eli was over 9 pounds! Thankfully, this labor went much better for my sister. I am happy to report that Gwendalyn and mom are doing great!
I can't wait to watch our girls grow up together.

Spring Fever
Yesterday was the girls first stroller ride. The weather was in the low 50s and the sun was shinning. I could not wait to get outside and go for a walk. The double stroller worked great! The car seats snapped right in. I can't believe how out of shape I am. Or it takes a lot more muscle to push a double stroller than just walking by yourself.
Skylar was in the car seat closer to the handle.
Alysha slept the entire trip!Friday, March 5, 2010
Updates on the Van Dams
As you can see my postings have been less and less... Skylar and Alysha are keeping me very busy. I am happy to report the girls had a great two month check up on Monday, March 1st. It was a bit stressful for me. Thankfully my sister, Sarah, and my Dad came with me for extra set of hands.
Skylar is weighing in at 10 pounds 3ounces and is 21 inches long. Alysha weighs 9 pounds 14 ounces and is 20 and 1/2 inches long. Both girls got 3 shots and that was not a fun experience! Skylar was prescribed Zantac and hopefully that will help with her fussiness.
When Alysha was 6 weeks old we seen a pediatric specialist at the DeVoss Children's Hospital for her hips. We were told she does have hip dysplasia and she would have to wear a harness. We are thankfully this was caught earlier than later. Thankfully, the harness has not bugged her.
Thursday, March 4 Alysha we had another ultra sound done on her hips and thankfully the report was positive that the harness is working. Alysha is able to be out of the harness for 8 hours a day. We have another follow up on March, 18. If all goes well at that appointment Alysha will be able to be out of the harness for 12 hours a day. Keep praying for positive results.
Every day is getting easier and easier with the twins. We are finally starting to get on a schedule. I am VERY HAPPY to report that the girls both slept a straight 7 hours last night! They were in bed by 9:30 and did not get up till 4:30. It is amazing how much better I feel after getting a straight 7 hours of sleep! Thanks for all your continued prayers and support!
Fun Pics....
