Happy 50th Anniversary Grandpa & Grandma Hoekstra

WOW.....50 years of marriage! What an AWESOME reason to celebrate! Our whole family had a dinner in Allendale at 48th West in their common room. The meal was excellent and no one left hungry. It was nice to know that Grandpa and Grandma were feeling better compared to last weekend. Hopefully, they continue to get good news about their health and enjoy each day to the fullest.

Memorial Day with Family

What a WONDERFUL day! I don't think we could have asked for nicer weather. Today I slept in, read in the sun for two hours and then took Trigger for a walk. I really enjoyed my day. Tonight we had a cookout at my parents. After dinner we had a competitive game of horse shoes. Scot and Chris won one game and Dad and I were able to take one game. I think we all need some more practice! We ended the evening with a nice bonfire. Sarah bought a rainbow stick for the bonfire.

The Start of Our Memorial Weekend

Saturday night, Scot and I went to John and April Roger's home in Caledonia for a cook out. Luke and Erin Vander Meulen were there as well with their son, Case. It was a great time catching up with friends we don't see often enough.

Sunday, May 17, we celebrated Heidi's birthday by having dinner at Carraba's in Grandville. It was just the girls and we had a great time! It was fun catching up with one another and just having girl talk. We should do these kind of outings more often, not just for birthdays!

Home Makeover

Our house got a face lift this past weekend. Scot made window shudders and a flower box for our front window. He also made three "peaks". One for the garage and two for our dormers. I am totally excited about the shudders and the flower box. I can't wait to get purple flowers in the window box. Scot and I are not to sure about the "peaks" but I think they are growing on us.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day 2009 was spent with the Van Dam Family. Scot and I had our family over and grilled hamburgers and brats on the grill. Thankfully the rain held off and we were able to paly a fun round of tee ball after dinner. We had so much fun playing ball with everyone. Our nephew, Tristan, even said this was the best tee ball game he ever played. Everyone had a WONDERFUL time!
