1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Today we celebrated the sacrament of baptism for the girls. Thankfully, the girls both woke up at 5:30 this morning which meant their second feeding was around 9:00. This was perfect because they both headed to church happy with full bellies. Pastor Tim Rotman did the baptism. I am happy to report that neither one of the girls cried nor spit up during the baptism and they did great during church!
Wayne, the girl's grandpa, was able to be our Elder during the baptism. This was special not only because he is their grandfather. but also because today is Wayne's birthday!
Alysha being baptized:
Skylar being baptized: Their baptism dresses were from my Grandma Hoekstra, the girl's Great Grandma. My Grandma wore the dress when she was 3 months old. The dresses were made by my Great Grandma Brower. Why, my Great Grandma made two of them for one daughter, we will never know. I think God had a plan for those two dresses when they were made over 50 years ago.
Grandma De Vree made the girls really cute pink bead bracelets on pink ribbon. Grandma Van Dam found the cutest shoes. I purchased white head bands with a pink bow. The girls were so sticken cute!!!
After the service we had a lunch and cake at our home with both of our families. The cake was made by my girlfriend, Maelia Post. She did a great job!!!
The girls received a book from the Balder family, Along Came You. Grandma Van Dam made the girls a shadow box with the following pray inside:
We will always and earnestly be praying for you,
asking God to make you strong and perfect
and to help you know His will in everything you do.
Daughters come and listen
and let us teach you the importance of trusting
and fearing the Lord, and that you may be wise
to accept God's salvation by trusting in Jesus.
We commit you to God
who is able to make you strong and steady in the Lord.
May He grant you your heart's desires
and fulfill all your plans.
A HUGE THANK YOU to our family for all your help today. Today was enjoyable and went very smooth because of your help and support. We are very blessed to have a very supportive family filled with love. It is true, it takes a village to raise children.
