Pool Time

This afternoon Scot and the girls cooled off in their new pool. They had a BLAST! Skylar loved the slide! I swear she went down it 20 times. Alysha loved splashing water all over her Dad.

Memorial Day

THANK YOU TO ALL THE VETERANS FOR THEIR SERVICE!!

We are so blessed to live in the USA.

This morning, Scot and I took the girls to their first parade. We met up with my family in Jamestown to watch the Memorial Day Parade. The girls really enjoyed it. I was so thankful we finally had a day with no rain!

Fun at the Park

Sometimes last minute plans are the best. My girlfriend, April, called me this morning to see if I had anything going on because she had the day free. Thankfully, I had no plans so I was able to meet her in Byron Center to walk the Kent trails. After our walk we went to a park to have lunch and let the kids play. It was Alysha and Skylar's first time at a park and they loved it. I could not have asked for a better day!

Mother-Daughter Tea

Tea is a cup of life. ~Author Unknown

A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water. Eleanor Roosevelt

This morning, I was able to take a couple hours away from the girls and enjoy a Mother-Daughter tea at our church with my family. This was my first tea party and it was a great time. I even tried some tea today and realized I am still not a big fan of it.

In the picture below from left to right is my sister Sarah, my mom Mary, me, my sister Amber, my Grandma Hoekstra and my Grandma De Vree. For the first time today I learned that my Great Grandma Vegter would always make tea at 3:00 in the afternoon everyday for my Great Grandpa and would take it out to the field where he was working. I love to hear stories like that from my grandmas.

In the picture below from left to right is me, my sister Holly, my Mom Jill, and my sister Heidi. Doesn't my mother look like she just attended the Royal Wedding? She looked great in her hat!!

After our nice brunch and tea we were blessed to receive tea etiquette tips from a "British family" of three. Check out their stunning outfits!! And of course, you can't have a tea party without singing, I'm a Little Tea Pot.

Aunt Sarah's Animals

This morning I took the girls to Aunt Sarah's barn to see her new lambs. Most of Sarah's sheep had twins, one even had triplets. It was so much fun to watch Alysha get all excited over the lambs. She was not scared at all. She walked right up to them and was all smiles. I think Aunt Sarah found her new barn buddy. Skylar on the other hand wanted nothing to do with the lambs. She was only happy if someone was holding her. After checking out the lambs the girls checked out the horses. Alysha took her first horse ride with Papa's help. I have a feeling she will be in the barn a lot more in the years to come! She did not want to leave.
Even Skylar rode a horse for the first time.
